Construction is taking place after 11 pm and it's very loud. The crew showed up around 5 pm and began tearing up the street. Why don't they schedule this for daytime hours? This neighborhood has been enduring nonstop construction for months (years in fact) and overnight work should not be allowed.

The Longfellow hotel construction site has made life on the end of Neal st a constant driving hazard, and is littered with noise pollution 6 days a week for 11 hours a day some days.

Beyond blocking Neal st, Congress st, and the enterance of neal st - this sit is causing walking hazards as well. I don’t feel I can cross the road safely most of the time near this site.

Yesterday our road was shut down all day without notice (this happens every few weeks for the last year). Today they have taken over half of Congress st on both sides of Neal st.

I don’t understand how this crew has such free range over this whole area. A person to direct traffic is needed in the very least.

It’s already been very disheartening that a new hotel is going in across the street from another hotel - something Portland does not need another of. Especially when this side of town is home so a large community of unhoused individuals. It would be easier to put up with all this inconvience if the construction was for something that benefits our real community instead of another large business distrusting our neighborhood.

Exterior building materials missing, degrading, falling down. Safety issue for pedestrians, fire hazard for surrounding neighbors due to openings allowing wildlife access into building.

This horrible bright light is now back on at the 7-11…. I had previously put in a “FIX IT” and nothing was done about it but luckily the 7-11 had been boarded up for months and we were free of this light pollution. NOW the store is no longer boarded and this AWFUL light is back on.

SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE TO CORRECT THIS.

THIS IS NOT A STREET LAMP.

THE LIGHT IS TOO BRIGHT AND SHINING INDISCRIMINATE ALL OVER RATHER THAN HAVING SOME KIND OF SHADE OR COVER TO SHINE THE LIGHT DOWN. This is UNACCEPTABLE.

211 Danforth St Portland, Maine, 04102 - Portland

The restaurant THE DANFORTH added an outside speaker to play loud music. It was playing loud music last night (Friday night, October 14th), filling our quiet street.

THE DANFORTH does not have outside seating, so the speaker and music was not for its customers. The customers were inside. THE DANFORTH thoughtless played echoing music for our street to hear. We didn't ask for that. Our neighbors don't want it.

We've lived on Danforth Street a while. For example, we can tell you Ruski's is not a problem with noise. The owners and the customers are respectful.

The problem is THE DANFORTH added an outside speaker, blasts music and disrespects our neighborhood. Bars and restaurants come and go at that location. We don't know if THE DANFORTH will be around next summer, but even if they view it as a short term investment and don't expect to be part of Portland, they need to care about the neighborhood and not act like they are running a bar on Wharf Street.

Please contact THE DANFORTH and ask them to turn off their outside speaker. This is a quiet residential street. Thank you.

Dow St Portland, Maine, 04102 - Portland

This individual is a frequent visitor to Dow street, usually in the company of one woman or another. My neighbor send my video of the gentleman..he has filmed them on his back steps on Horton Way, selling drugs on a regular basis. They also use our yards and alleyways for public urination, drug use and so on.

We have done our own research and we believe the man's name may be Donald Elvis Bowden. He was convicted of drug trafficking and sentenced to 5 years by kennebec criminal court in about 2017: Docket Number KENCD-CR-2016-01360. We have kids in this neighborhood. We don't need surly drug dealers using our private spaces as drug staging areas. Can you please remove him and his female assistants/cohorts from our family neighborhood.

We encountered him today, when he became aggressive toward my wife after she asked him to move along, making lewd sexual comments and harassing her.

Outside of building is a pile of cat litter and waste.
  • 20 Lewis St Portland, ME 04102, USA - Portland
New gas meter located on street side of house. Should have been installed at side. Sidewalk clearance does not meet ADA requirements. The posts infringe on required minimum clearance for handicapped use of sidewalk. This complaint was previously ignored. I will file a formal grievance regarding Americans With Disabilities Act if the meters and pipes are not relocated in the very near future
